No Injuries Reported In Pickup/Dump Truck Accident In Jefferson Thursday

No injuries were reported in a pickup/dump truck accident Thursday in Jefferson. Officers with the Jefferson Police Department responded to the scene at North Mulberry and U.S. Highway 30 at approximately 11:46 a.m. Richard Moore of Dexter was operating a 2006 Mack dump truck, owned by Caliber Concrete of Audubon, and had stopped for the posted sign at the intersection. Yearson Salvin of Jefferson was behind the dump truck in a 2006 Chevrolet K1500, owned by Amy Baugh. As Moore proceeded through the intersection in the dump truck, he stopped again for oncoming traffic and Salvin struck the rear of the Mack. There was no damage to the dump truck, but the pickup suffered a reported $2,000 in front-end damage. Salvin was cited for failure to stop in an assured clear distance.
