A Carroll teen accused of felony sexual abuse has been scheduled for trial in March. According to Carroll County District Court records, 17-year-old Brandon Lashawn Dreesman, who is being charged as an adult, filed his written not guilty plea earlier this week to one count of third-degree sexual abuse, a class C felony. An affidavit from the Carroll County Attorney’s Office alleges Dreesman performed sex acts with a 13-year-old victim between Aug. 12 and Aug. 24 of this year. His trial has been scheduled to begin on Tuesday, March 23 with a pretrial conference planned for Monday, March 8. A class C felony in Iowa carries a maximum penalty of up to 10 years in prison and $10,000 in fines.
