Lake City Officials announced Friday they will begin their fall hydrant flushing procedures starting tomorrow (Monday). Administrator, Eric Wood, says crews will be working in several areas of town from Nov. 16 through Nov. 20. Hydrants are flushed semi-annually to clear any accumulated sediments or rust from inside the water mains. It is possible resident will notice a reddish tint in their water while the work is underway. Discolored water is safe for consumption, but city officials recommend people avoid doing laundry to avoid staining clothes.
