SMCH Welcomes Lexie Badding As The Newest Member Of Their Medical Team

A Carroll native and Kuemper alum has joined the medical staff at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital (SMCH) in Lake City and the McCrary Rost Clinics. Certified Physician Assistant, Lexie Badding, daughter of Glenn and Tamie Badding, will be providing family care to patients in Lake City as well as in Gowrie, Lake View and Rockwell City as needed. During her clinical rotations, she worked in an emergency department and is excited to return to that environment in Lake City. “I loved my rotation in the ER,” Badding says. “I enjoyed the challenges of thinking fast and being quick on my feet.” Stewart Memorial CEO, Cindy Carstens, says they are excited to have Badding as a part of their team. “Her flexibility to provide coverage in all locations as needed will assure that our patients and communities will receive care from a local provider and a partner from our team,” she says. Having Lexie as that local provider assures communication of the patient’s plan of care occurs with that patient’s primary care provider. This assures a smooth and safe transition of care.” Badding says seeing excellent family providers as she was growing up in Carroll spurred her interest in a healthcare career and that every choice she considered always related to medicine. She received a bachelor of science degree in kinesiology and health from Iowa State University and a master of science in physician assistant studies from Des Moines University.
