The IKM-Manning School Board approved an amendment to their Return to Learn plan during a special meeting Friday afternoon that mandates masks for staff, students and visitors. According to Superintendent, Trevor Miller, face coverings, including approved neck gaiters, will be required beginning Monday, Nov. 16. Face coverings are to be worn throughout the school day, on buses and during extracurricular activities. The district will provide masks for individuals unable to provide their own. Miller says, “These are not easy decisions, and we know that not everyone will agree with this decision. In the end, this is about putting everything we can in place to allow students and staff to safely be in school.” The board will reconsider the mandate at their Thursday, Jan. 21 board meeting.
