Lake View’s city limits will be expanding by 36 acres to the northeast in the coming weeks. City officials held a land annexation public hearing during their Oct. 19 meeting. Administrator, Scott Peterson, describes the area in question.
According to Peterson, the council did not receive any comments from the public on the proposed annexation and directed staff to begin filing the necessary paperwork. Evapco has not released any official plans for an expansion, but the annexation request originated from the industrial cooling and refrigeration manufacturer. Peterson says the city council sees this a win-win for all parties involved.
Peterson adds this a voluntary annexation request, so he anticipates the 36-acre section should be included in the city limits by the beginning of November.
The city council approved the required resolutions for annexation and rezoning of the identified land following the public hearings.
