Extensive damage was reported in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday in Jefferson. The Jefferson Police Department responded to Elm and West Russell Streets at approximately 3:53 p.m. Richard Finch of Jefferson was northbound in the inside lane of Elm Street in a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox. At the same time, Zachary Goff of Jefferson was southbound in the outside lane of Elm in a 2002 Chevrolet Impala and both vehicles came to the intersection with West Russell Street at the same time. As the light turned yellow, Finch attempted to turn westbound on Russell, pulling into the path of the oncoming Goff vehicle. Finch was cited for failure to yield upon a left turn.
