Recent Motorcycle Ride Will Be Making Wishes Come For Area Children This Christmas

A recent fundraising event has resulted in a generous donation to be used to help local children have a happier holiday this year. One of the organizers of Santa’s September Sleigh Ride, Bowe Kinkade, says motorcycle enthusiasts from as far away as Des Moines participated in this worthwhile cause.

Kinkade says they rode around Carroll and some of the surrounding counties with everyone pitching in at the beginning and paying the entry fee to raise $900 for the Carroll Broadcasting Kid’s Christmas Wish initiative that provides money and gift cards to families in need for food, gas and gifts over the holiday season. Kinkade says the ride was developed after he and Piranha Club manager, John Daiker, put their heads together on ideas for giving back.

Kinkade has been involved in organized rides for about nine years, but this was the first annual Santa’s September Sleigh Ride, a venture they hope to continue into the future. He says they chose the Kid’s Christmas Wish for the proceeds because this year, in-particular, there are many people facing more and more hardships.

Kinkade adds the beauty of an event like this motorcycle ride is that social distancing is a natural part of the experience. More information on how to donate to Kid’s Christmas Wish is included below.
