Emma Schroeder of East Sac is on to State Cross Country, Alexia Nelson of SCC Misses by One Spot

Cross Country State Qualifying Results Thursday, October 22nd

East Sac At Ridge View- Class 1A

Emma Schroeder reached her goal this season of qualifying for the State Cross Country meet as she finished 6th on Thursday on a wet, chilly and muddy day. The junior ran a time of 21:31.30 and was 13 seconds in front of the 7th place runner. Lauren Litterer capped her senior season taking 2nd for the Raiders and 55th overall with Cora Mahler a freshman going 59th.

Wyatt Thorpe wrapped up his junior season in 27th place as the Raider boys finished 7th overall. Thorpe was followed by Parker Engel in 35th and Nathan Pobanz in 45th.

South Central Calhoun At Eagle Grove- Class 2A

Alexia Nelson had a great season and was coming on very strong the second half of the season and Thursday she just missed qualifying for the State Cross Country meet finishing 16th. They take the top 15 individuals so Nelson missed it by one spot. The Titans girls had solid showing overall finishing 6th with Nelson leading the way followed by Alayna Murley in 40th and Brielle Korleski 45th, Ashley Hanks 47th and Evenly Kramer 49th.

It was a tough day and tough field for the South Central Calhoun boys as they finished 14th as a team and were led by Justin Hanks in 44th place with Nathan Burley in 63rd.
