Carroll County Public Health Records Fourth COVID-19 Death This Week

Carroll County Public Health announced Thursday they have recorded another coronavirus-related death, bringing the county’s total to 12. Public health officials say the individual was between the ages of 41 and 60 years old. Following this latest death, four Carroll County residents have died with COVID-19 in as many days. As of Thursday afternoon, Carroll County stands at 1,067 total COVID-19 cases since the beginning of the pandemic, 650 recovered and a 17.8-percent positivity rate. For the rest of the listening area: Audubon is at 138 cases, 79 recovered, one death and 6.6 percent; Calhoun 284 total, 231 recovered, four deaths and 8.4 percent; Crawford 1,331 cases, 1,057 recovered, 12 deaths and 15.6-percent positivity; Greene 182 positives, 102 recovered, zero deaths and 6.8 percent; Guthrie 376 total, 233 recovered, 15 deaths and 11.6 percent; and Sac 376 cases, 251 recovered and four deaths at 10 percent. To date, Iowa has recorded, 111,287 cases, 85,684 recovered and 1,601 deaths. Public health officials continue to stress the importance of physical distancing, wearing a face covering and washing hands frequently with soap and water.
