Registration is now open for the next Carroll County Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach office pest management course. The in-person class will be held from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at the Extension building on Highway 30 in Carroll. Attendees will receive continuing instruction credit for commercial pesticide applicators certified categories 7D, 8 and 10, which include community insect management, public health pest control and research and demonstration. The presentation will review safe handling and storage of pesticides, updates to laws and regulations, personal protective equipment use along with pests and pest management. Due to COVID-related social distancing requirements, no walk-ins will be allowed. Registration is $25 if completed on or before Oct. 21 and increases to $45 after that date.
