A Carroll man scheduled for trial next week in District Court for Carroll County on a felony sexual abuse charge has reached a plea agreement with prosecutors. Nineteen-year-old Michael John William Lyons faced one count of third-degree sexual abuse, a class C felony, after an investigation by the Carroll Police Department found Lyons had performed sex acts with a 13-year-old female victim between April 15 and May 31. According to court records, he will plead guilty to lascivious acts with a minor, which is also a class C felony. The Oct. 20 trial has been canceled and a Nov. 30 plea hearing has been scheduled in its place. Lyons could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines.
