Storm Lake Woman Held Without Bond For Threatening A Man With A Handgun

A Storm Lake woman is being held without bond after pointing a handgun at another individual. The Storm Lake Police Department reports they were notified of a domestic disturbance involving a female with a gun in the 500 block of E. 5th Street at approximately 5:45 p.m. Wednesday. Upon arrival officers found an adult male and an adult female, 31-year-old Carolina Figueroa Alvarez. After an initial investigation, officers allege Alvarez armed herself with a handgun and walked to the residence, where she confronted the male victim, who was seated in the car with a two-year-old child at the time. Alvarez allegedly pointed the gun at the victim in a threatening manner. No injuries were reported and Alvarez was taken into custody without incident. Police did locate and seize a loaded handgun at the scene. Alvarez is being held in the Buena Vista County jail on charges of domestic abuse assault while displaying a weapon, carrying weapons and child endangerment, all aggravated misdemeanors.
