It wasn’t always pretty but the Carroll Tigers picked up their 22nd win of the season and clinched a 2nd place finish in the Raccoon River Conference with a 7-2 mark. They topped ADM in 3 sets but trailed in the first set until they grabbed the lead for good around 10. Ella Collison put some distance between Carroll and ADM to end the 1st set.

Carroll served well and when they did they controlled the match and kept ADM out of system. Kennedy Lein had a nice service run in the 2nd set as the Tigers again pulled away. Laura Sweeney had a good night at the service line and led the Tigers with a pair of aces.

This was the final regular season match of the season for Carroll who won’t be back in action until October 22nd when they host the winner of Storm Lake and Denison Schleswig in the Regional Semifinals in Class 4A.

Audubon nabbed their 2nd win in the last two days as they went on the road and beat West Harrison in a non-conference match. The win improves the Wheelers to 2-10 on the season as they will host IKM-Manning and AHSTW on Thursday.

The Wheelers did a nice job bouncing back after losing the 1st set to dominate set 2. They were able to find holes in the Hawkeyes defense and attack those spots. Jaci Christensen, Elizabeth Zaiger and Mattie Nielsen all had big nights at the net and Aleah Hermansen and Addie Hocker did a nice job finding their hitters in good shape.

The aggressive play in set 2 helped the Wheelers squeeze out a tight win in set 3 and then they blew things open early in set 4 as they cruised to a 16 point victory.

Jaci Christensen had a team high 12 kills while Elizabeth Zaiger and Mattie Nielsen each had 9 kills. Nielsen had a team high 12 digs with Aleah Hermansen with 12, Christensen 9 and Johanna Sauers with 8 digs also having a good night in the back row.
