The Jefferson Police Department is investigating the attempted use of a counterfeit bill Thursday. An officer was called to a business in the 200 block of W. Lincoln Way Street at approximately 3:48 p.m. An employee reported that a male had just attempted to use a counterfeit $100 bill to purchase fuel and other items. The officer recognized the currency as movie prop money and seized it as evidence.
