Two Area Communities Selected To Receive 5-2-1-0 Healthy Choices Count! Funding From IDPH

The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) announced last week that two communities in the listening area have been selected to receive an additional year of funding to participate in the 5-2-1-0 Healthy Choices Count! initiative. Storm Lake is heading into their second year with the program and received $10,000 while Manning is entering their final year and was awarded $5,000. These funds are used to build environments that promote and facilitate healthy choices throughout the community. Healthy Choices Count! was launched in Iowa in 2017 as part of the nationally recognized 5-2-1-0 Let’s Go! program that centers on the numbers in its name: five or more servings of fruits and vegetables, two or less hours of screen time, over one hour of physical activity and zero sugar-sweetened beverages.
