Lake View City Council Moves Forward On Three Smaller Projects As Work On Lagoon Comes To A Close

The Lake View City Council reviewed and approved bids for three separate projects at Monday night’s meeting. Administrator, Scott Peterson, says the first two bids are in reference to concrete work in two areas of town.

The council awarded both the concrete bids to Buse Specialties Construction & Contractors of Lake View for a combined $11,105. Work is expected to begin sometime this summer with a completion date scheduled before winter begins. The final bid approved at last night’s (Monday) meeting was regarding work at the Lake View Fire Department. Peterson says they have identified problems with the structure’s roof.

He adds construction at the fire station will likely take place sometime late this summer and into the fall. As these new projects are now ready to get underway, Peterson notes they have only a few weeks left until another substantial effort, their new wastewater lagoon, is fully operational.

The original bid on the lagoon came it at $6 million. Now that work is nearly finished, Peterson is pleased to report it is very likely the project will come in under budget at $5.97 million. Peterson expects the lagoon will begin processing wastewater in early August.
