Kuemper At IKM-Manning

Kuemper 14

IKM-Manning 2                       (4 Innings)

Kuemper scored 17 runs on Friday night and swung the bat well. That continued on Saturday as they picked up 11 hits in a 4 inning win. Chloe Venteicher had her best start of the year on Friday night and may have one upped that Saturday giving up just 3 hits and 1 earned run.

IKM-Manning was able to get out of trouble in the 1st inning as Kuemper had the bases loaded with only 1 out and only scored 1 run. Then Lexi Branning tied the game in the bottom half with a shot over the left field fence. That was the last time the Wolves threatened against Venteicher. IKM-Manning did get a runner on in the 2nd and had runners on 2nd and 3rd in the 3rd but trailed 12-1 at that point. Mya Doyle reached on an error in the 4th and came in to score the other Wolves run.

The Knights bats kept rolling, loading the bases in the 2nd with no outs. This time they made IKM-Manning pay. Kyndal Hilgenberg, Brianna Lux and Kenzie Schon all drove in runs and Kuemper led 5-1. For the third straight inning Kuemper loaded the bases, this time there was 1 out. They would push 7 runs across the board. Hilgenberg and Lux each had 2 RBI, Jordan Schwabe added an RBI and went 4-4 on the day. She would finish with 3 RBI. The Knights put the game away with 2 more runs in the 4th.

The win moved Kuemper to 5-5 on the season while IKM-Manning falls to 2-6.
