Kuemper got out early in the opener of the invite and lead 3-0 heading into the 3rd inning. Carroll rallied with 2 in the 3rd and 1 in the 4th to tie the game at 3-3. The Knights answered with a run in the bottom of the 4th to go up 4-3. The seesaw continued as Carroll notched 2 runs in the top of the 5th to go up 5-4 but Kuemper responded with a 6 run bottom of the 5th and added 3 more in the 6th.

Kuemper pounded out 13 hits with Kyle Berg and Austin Tigges tripling. Berg added 4 RBI, Truman Haukap, Tigges and Luke Hicks each picked up a pair of RBI. Kuemper had 11 RBI on their 13 runs.  Cal Wanninger came in and pitched the 6th and 7th and slowed down the Tigers giving up just 1 hit and 1 run. Will Schenkelberg pitched the first 5 innings and picked up the win.

Carroll had 10 hits in the game with Jack Troutman, Slade Sibenaller and Luke Woosley each with 2 hits. Sibenaller tripled. Colby Christensen had a team high 2 RBI.

Carroll struggled to get the offense going in their 2nd game and fell to 3-6 on the season picking up just 6 hits in being shut out. Pocahontas Area scored a run in the bottom of the 1st and added 2 more runs in the 5th. The Tigers out hit the Indians 6-5 but couldn’t stretch the hits together.

Ty Nissen and Luke Woosley each had a pair of hits and both doubled. Colby Christensen and Ryan Johnston added the other hits. Alex Loew pitched well going all 6 innings and giving up just the 5 hits and 3 runs while striking out 7.

The bats stayed hot for Kuemper in their final game of the day as the team picked up 13 hits and had 9 RBI in their 12 runs. They had timely hits all day and used a big 9 run 1st inning to answer the 2 runs scored by the Indians in the top of the 1st. Kuemper ended the game with a 2 run 6th.

Kyle Berg stayed on his recent tear with a 3 hits, Truman Haukap added 2 hits and had 4 RBI. Austin Tigges had a good day at the plate and finished the game 2-4. Kyle Feauto added 2 RBI. Haukap and Tigges doubled and Jake Hugeback tripled. Logan Sibenaller picked up the win and teamed with Luke Hicks to give up 6 hits and 2 earned runs while striking out 4.

Coon Rapids Bayard struggled out of the gate and fell behind 5-0 going into the 3rd inning. The bats began to wake up as they picked up 8 hits but more importantly they walked 9 times and had 2 more players hit by pitch. With the extra base runners they were able to have 13 RBI.

Kade Schlepp and Aaron McAlister doubled for the only extra base hits. Peyton Clipperton and Tanner Oswald each had a pair of hits. Jalen Rosenbeck, Lance Clayburg scored 3 times and Clipperton, Gabe Obert and Oswald each scored twice.

Schlepp picked up the win going 5 innings and giving up just 3 hits. He allowed 5 runs but none were earned. Schlepp had 6 of the teams 7 strikeouts.
