IDPH Monitoring Possible COVID-19 Outbreak In Buena Vista County; State’s Total Grows To 18,262 Cases

The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) reports the total number of COVID-19 cases in the state has grown to 18,262 with the confirmation of 603 positive tests since 11 a.m. Tuesday. State health officials have also identified 21 additional coronavirus-related deaths, marking 487 deaths to date. During her daily press conference, Gov. Kim Reynolds responded to questions about a possible outbreak at a food production facility in Storm Lake. Buena Vista County has 675 cases as of Wednesday, 417 of which were identified yesterday (Tuesday). Reynolds said no facilities there have reached the 10-percent threshold to be announced as an outbreak, but the IDPH is closely monitoring the situation and conducting contact tracing on positive cases. As for cases in the listening area, Calhoun County remains at two cases, Carroll County stands at 9 and Audubon County with 12. Greene County remains at 13 while Sac has grown to 17, Guthrie to 44 and Crawford County to 488.
