Public Hearings, A Board Member’s Resignation And Superintendent Candidate Interviews On The Agenda For Monday’s CCSD Board Of Education Meeting

The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education will meet for a special session next week to hold two public hearings, accept the resignation of board member, Gina Badding, and continue their search for a new superintendent. Badding was appointed as a district judge earlier this week and can no longer hold an elected position. According to the published agenda, the meeting is expected to last approximately 4.5 hours, and Marty Fonley, the district’s interim superintendent, says most of the scheduled items of business will be handled in the first 15 minutes.

The board will also hold a second public hearing, this one on the proposed 2019-20 school calendar before entering into closed session for candidate interviews. They have already narrowed the pool of candidates vying for the open superintendent position down to seven from the original 22 applicants. Finalists could be announced as soon as Tuesday morning.

The last round of interviews will take place on Thursday, April 18. The board is scheduled to return to open session briefly around 9:30 p.m. before adjourning. Monday’s meeting is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. at the Adams Elementary School boardroom.
