Trial Information Filed Against Ft. Dodge Man Accused Of Fleeing From Law Enforcement

Trial information was filed Thursday against a Fort Dodge man accused of fleeing from law enforcement at speeds over 95 mph in a stolen vehicle. On Thursday, 36-year-old Andrew Lee Jensen was formally charged with eluding or attempting to elude, an aggravated misdemeanor. The charge stems from an incident on June 26 at Swan Lake State Park. At approximately 8:26 a.m., the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by a ranger that a 2010 Ford Fusion that was reported stolen out of Fort Dodge had left the park. A deputy located the vehicle heading eastbound on Highway 30 and attempted to stop the car. Jensen failed to pull over and continued out of town at a high rate of speed. The chase ended after about 10 minutes when Jensen crashed into a ditch near the intersection of Union Avenue and 220th Street. He has also been cited for driving while license suspended, reckless driving, failure to obey a traffic control device and speeding. An arraignment hearing is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 9 at the Carroll County Courthouse.
