Only Two Candidates Remain After One Carroll AD Finalist Accepts Another Position

One of the three finalists for the Carroll Community School District (CCSD) 7-12 Activities Director has removed himself from consideration. Andrew Mitchell, the activities director at Fort Madison, informed school officials Tuesday morning that he had accepted a position as the assistant high school principal and activities director at Atlantic. Mitchell told the district that he felt accepting the offer was the best choice for him and his family and declined participation in formal interviews for the Carroll opening. The candidates remaining, High School Basketball Coach, Randy Bissen and Roosevelt High School Activities Director, Todd Gordon, will be interviewed Wednesday. Following those interviews, meet and greets will be held in the high school auditorium. Bissen will be available for questions from the public from 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Gordon from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.  The board of education will return to closed session at 7 p.m. to possibly offer a contract.
