Higgins And Tunning Named 2017 CHS Homecoming Royalty

Carroll High School students and fans celebrated the crowning of the 2017 Homecoming King and Queen during a coronation ceremony last night (Thursday). Seniors, Tanner Higgins and Emma Tunning, were named as royalty by last year’s king and queen, Tyler Loew and Ashley Perrin. Other candidates for homecoming queen included: Paige Caltrider, Josie Pate, Somer Sinnard and Maddie Rotert. King candidates included: Cooper Ross, Nick Hansen, Justin Mohr and Cavan Eberle. Students and staff began their celebrations Tuesday dressed in preparation for a storm during Rain Gear Day. Wednesday the Tigers donned fanny packs and disposable cameras for Tourist Day. Each class represented a different holiday on Thursday. Freshman were clothed in green for St. Patrick’s Day. Sophomores donned costumes for Halloween. Juniors were garbed in red, white and blue after the Fourth of July, and seniors dressed as if Christmas took place in September. Students finished the week Friday with Spirit Day wearing Tiger orange and black and a parade. The Tigers faceoff against the Harlan Cyclones tonight (Friday) at the Carroll Athletic Field at 7:30 p.m.
