Alliant Energy Seeking Approval For Large Wind Investment In Iowa

Alliant Energy has announces another major wind investment in Iowa. They are currently seeking approval from the Iowa Utilities Board to add up to 500 megawatts of wind energy in the state. A decision on the proposal is expected in early 2018. A similar expansion was approved in 2016, and the combined projects represent a $1.8 billion investment and add up to 1,000 megawatts of new wind energy in Iowa. That is enough to power up to 430,000 homes a year. Wind is expected to be more than one-third of the company’s Iowa energy mix in 2020.
