CADC Preparing For Next Roundtable And Highway 30 Day At State Capitol

The Carroll Area Development Corporation (CADC) is preparing for two events at the end of March with the Carroll County Roundtable taking place on Tuesday, March 28 and Highway 30 Day at the State Capitol on Wednesday, March 29. Executive Director, Shannon Landauer, said the Carroll County Roundtable is entering into its third year, led by Region XII Council of Governments.

Landauer said it has really created an open forum for county leaders to connect with all of the city leaders. Carroll County is hosting the roundtable, which will be held at the Swan Lake Education Center. In lieu of a tour, the session will feature guest speaker, Larry Fry with the Raccoon River Watershed Management Authority, who will discuss water quality. The next day, a contingent of representatives will be traveling to Des Moines to discuss what is happening now and in the future for Highway 30. Landauer said the use of the roadway has changed over the years.

The stretch of Highway 30 between Carroll and Glidden has been designated as one of the busiest in the state. Landauer said this is another important factor for lawmakers and state leaders to note as the inclusion of commuter traffic into the mix has kept the number of vehicles traveling that section of roadway high for quite some time.
