Tam Milligan was emcee of the 2016 Chamber Banquet Monday night, but she was also in the spotlight in another respect when her family was recognized as the Carroll Heritage award winners. Presenter, Kim Hackett of Carroll Broadcasting, said the Moehn and Milligan family have a long-standing history of giving back to the Carroll community.

This award comes at a very special time for Commercial Savings Bank as they celebrate 100 years of this fourth-generation local business. Paul said they have been lucky in many respects. They have been lucky to have long-term, loyal, hard-working and community-oriented employees, and he is proud of their history. He detailed how their investment in Carroll began with Ray Moehn, who took over the bank in 1919 and made sure that every depositor received their money back during the Great Depression.

Paul and Tam Milligan were joined by the fourth generation, Ryan and Kathi and Kevin and Erin Milligan in accepting this award. Kevin said that though Chairman, Pat Moehn, couldn’t be present, he remains connected to Carroll and the entire banking family in spirit.

And Ryan said he has enjoyed being part of a business where he gets to work with a first-rate staff, offer quality services and where he gets to learn even more about his community and his family.

We will bring you more on all the award winners in upcoming broadcasts, and a full listing of Monday night’s recipients can be found with this story on our website.
