Drug Take-Back Event This Saturday At Hy-Vee In Carroll

The Carroll Police Department is participating in a drug take-back program Saturday, April 30. Capt. Mark Heino said this will be the ninth collection nationwide so far this year, but will be the only local program they will be conducting in 2016.

The collection site will be right inside the doors when you enter the Carroll Hy-Vee. Heino says they cannot take any controlled substances, but any pharmaceuticals or prescribed medications will be collected.

Heino says not only is this a convenient way for people to dispose of unwanted items, it can be a security measure as well.

Again, the drug take-back event on Saturday, April 30 will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hy-Vee in Carroll. In addition to illicit drugs, Heino said they are not able to collect syringes or pressed gas cylinders. Anyone with questions can contact Capt. Heino weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the Carroll Police Department by calling 792-3536.
