At approximately 12:46 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 1, a Greene County Deputy and an Iowa State Patrol officer responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch in the 800 block of N Ave. northwest of Grand Junction. Both officers were soon dispatched to a home in the area to check on the report of a male subject knocking on the back door. After an initial investigation, 77-year-old Don Eugene Wallace of Churdan was taken into custody by the Iowa State Trooper and charged with Operating While Intoxicated—third offense.
