Monarch Tagging At Hagge Park

Monarch butterflies will be getting ready for one of the most amazing migrations in the animal kingdom. These tiny, majestic creatures will travel over 1,600 miles from Iowa to Mexico for the winter months. The Sac County Conservation Board invites you to help provide scientists with valuable information about the phenomenon through participation in the Monarch Tagging Program. You will be able to help catch, tag and learn more about monarch butterflies at Hagge Park in Sac City on Tuesday, Sept. 8 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. The session is limited to 16 children and is free of charge, but pre-registration is required. To register and reserve your spot, contact Sac County Conservation at 712-662-4530.
