Just in time for fall planting, MidAmerican Energy is offering their residential customers the opportunity to purchase high-quality trees for only $30 through the company’s Plant Some Shade program. MidAmerican’s Manager of Energy Efficiency, Tina Yoder, says encouraging the planting of trees is an effective way to promote energy efficiency and environmental beautification. The trees will provide year-round protection of homes from the elements, which helps customers save energy and money. Order forms for the program can be found on the MidAmerican website. Customers can purchase up to two trees, either three-to-four foot conifers or five-to-eight foot landscape trees. The company will pay for any costs over the $30 charged. Advance purchase is required and quantities are limited, so orders will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis.
