Area Unemployment Rates Down From 2014

Carroll, Iowa — July unemployment rates for the Western Iowa Advantage Region are down one percent from the same time period in 2014. The Western Iowa Advantage Region tracks economic indicators in Adair, Audubon, Carroll, Crawford, Greene, Guthrie, Ida and Sac Counties, including employment trends. Carroll County holds the lowest unemployment rate at 2.5 percent, while Adair and Ida counties tie at 2.8. Guthrie and Sac Counties report 3.1 percent unemployment for July and Crawford County is just a tick above at 3.2 percent and Audubon and Greene Counties round out the regional report with 3.5 percent. Total employment in the region increased from 47,296 in July 2014 to 48,880 this year.
