Car Strikes Farm Implement On Highway 30 Overpass

Grand Junction, Iowa — Two men were lucky to escape injury yesterday (Monday) afternoon after a vehicle struck a farm implement on the Union Pacific Railroad overpass on Highway 30 east of Grand Junction. The Greene County Sheriff’s office and Grand Junction Fire and Rescue responded to the reported accident at approximately 4:43 p.m. They found that 61-year-old Richard Lee Bratcher of Grand Junction had struck disk that was being pulled by 20-year-old Cory James Schwering of Ogden. The implement was over the center line of the highway when it was hit by Bratcher’s 2014 Nissan Murano. Only minor damage was reported to Bratcher’s car and there was no damage to the disk. Schwering was cited for Failure to Yield Half the Roadway.
