Powerful Tools For Caregivers Educational Series Coming To Carroll

Carroll, Iowa — There are over 65 million family caregivers across the country providing emotional, financial, nursing, social, homemaking and other services on a daily or frequent basis. The Carroll County Extension and Iowa State University Human Sciences Extension and Outreach are sponsoring an educational series designed to give these caregivers the tools they need to take care of themselves as well. Participants will learn how to reduce stress, improve self-confidence, better communicate their feelings, balance their lives, increase the ability to make tough decisions and locate helpful resources. The class consists of six, 90-minute sessions held once per week. Human Sciences Program Coordinator, Anjanette Treadway and Dr. David Brown will conduct the classes. Sessions are scheduled for Thursday afternoons from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. at the Carroll County Extension Office in Carroll. They will be held Sept. 10th, 17th, 24th, October 8th, 15th and 22nd. There is a suggested $10 donation to participate. For more information or to register, contact Treadway at 792-2364.
