Clinton Announces Grassroots Group; Iowa Women For Hillary

Carroll, Iowa — Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton announced the launching of Iowa Women for Hillary yesterday afternoon (Thursday). The grassroots group of supporters includes at least one leader in each of Iowa’s 99 counties. These women will campaign throughout the state by phone, door-to-door, through letters or by hosting grassroots events to tell women why Clinton is the candidate who will fight for them as president. Ruth Harkin, a Women for Hillary member in Warren County, said Iowa women are looking for a president who will stand up for them and fight for equal pay, paid family leave and who will stand up to Republican attempts to get between them and their doctors. There are nearly 200 women who are current members and that group includes state legislators, county chairs and other local elected officials. Local Iowa Women for Hillary include: Julie Carol Williams of Audubon County; Linda Luhring of Calhoun County; Marcia Kollasch of Carroll County; Dawn Sturm of Crawford County; Lola Booth of Greene County; Kathy Miller and Mary Mincer Hansen of Guthrie County; Lenee Sinnott of Ida County; and Joleen Bachman of Sac County. A full listing of members can be found here.
