Denison Schleswig At Kuemper

Kuemper 11

Denison Schleswig 10

Kuemper held an 8-5 lead entering the 7th inning on Monday night before things became even more exciting. The Monarchs loaded the bases with no outs and went on to score 5 runs to grab a 10-8 lead. A wild pitch tied the game and an RBI single gave Denison Schleswig the led with still nobody out. Kuemper finally got out of the inning.

As the Knights have done in past years they would rally back in their half of the 7th. Back to back singles with 2 outs kept the Knights with some hope. Kyle Berg then had an RBI single which moved Jake Hugeback to 3rd. An error on the Monarchs tied the game and move Kyle Berg to 3rd.   Will Shenkelberg then drove home Berg to win it for Kuemper. Kuemper pounded out 12 hits on the night and 8 of their 11 runs were on RBI. Jake Hugeback, Luke Hicks, Kyle Berg and Will Schenkelberg each had a multi-hit game.

The Knights who will host Harlan on 93.7 KKRL on Tuesday night scored 9 runs over the final 3 innings.
