Iowa Lottery VP Joe Hrdlicka out of job
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Joe Hrdlicka has stepped down after
serving as Iowa Lottery's vice president of marketing for more than
a decade.
Hrdlicka said Tuesday he submitted his resignation after a
meeting with Iowa Lottery CEO Terry Rich. His departure was
effective Feb. 25.
Rich would only say Hrdlicka was not fired. He declined to give
a reason for Hrdlicka's departure, saying it was a confidential
matter.
Rich says he may name a new vice president for marketing in
coming months. He says he first wants to see how the agency is
affected by a move to offer state workers incentives to retire
early.
Hrdlicka joined the Iowa Lottery in 1997 and became vice
president of marketing in 1999. He had previously been an aide to
former Republican Rep. Jim Ross Lightfoot.
