Trial rescheduled for Iowa school official

DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) - A judge has rescheduled the jury trial for
a Dubuque high school assistant principal who faces charges he
sexually exploited a student.
Hempstead High School assistant principal Shane Oswald has
pleaded not guilty in the case. His trial was rescheduled Monday
from April 5 until May, with a specific date to be set later.
Oswald's attorney, Werner Hellmer, requested the delay because of
scheduling conflicts.
Prosecutors say Shane Oswald had sex with a 17-year-old
Hempstead High School student several times at his home. He is
charged with sexual exploitation by a school employee, distribution
of a controlled substance and providing alcohol to a minor.
Oswald remains on paid administrative leave and is prohibited
from entering the high school.
