Iowa man pleads guilty in murder case
MASON CITY, Iowa (AP) - A man accused of the 2008 shooting death
of a Mason City man has pleaded guilty to lesser charges.
Andre Wells Jr. was charged with first-degree murder and
first-degree burglary in the killing of Isidoro Erreguin. Wells
pleaded guilty on Monday in Cerro Gordo County District Court to
involuntary manslaughter and first-degree robbery. Sentencing is
set for May 7.
A telephone call on Tuesday to his attorney, Eric Kenyatta
Parrish, was not immediately returned.
Wells was one of three people charged in the case. Damion Seats
was convicted in 2009 of first-degree murder and first-degree
robbery and sentenced to life in prison without parole.
Jamie McFarland agreed to guilty to first-degree burglary in a
plea deal with the state.
