Deputy Kustra to retire from Carroll County Sheriff's Office



Carroll, IA -- After 18 years serving the residents of Carroll County as a member of the sheriff’s office Deputy Greg Kustra will retire April 30th.  Kustra began working for the sheriff’s office January 31st of 1992 after serving 5 years with the Carroll Police Department.  Prior to his service with the P.D. he worked for several years at the county jail.  Sheriff Doug Bass says Kustra was a very good jailer and deputy.  He was a hard working officer with a good heart.  Bass says he is an asset to the sheriff’s office.  The Sheriff’s Office began taking applications today and will begin the process of hiring a new deputy march 5th.  Following the 5th candidates will take a civil service test and physical.  Bass says they hope to have someone in place by May 1st.  Applications can be picked up at the sheriff’s office.
