Car submerged but passengers able to escape near Kimballton

Kimballton, IA -- 22-year-old Crystal Jensen of Kimballton and her passenger Julie Petersen of Elk Horn were able to escape the vehicle they were in as it became submerged in an unnamed waterway Friday afternoon.  Jensen was southbound on Crane Avenue about a mile and a half northeast of Kimballton which is near 250^th street.  Jensen lost control due to snow and slush on the road.  Her vehicle entered the west before entering the waterway.  Jensen and Petersen were able to exit the vehicle as it was sinking through rolled down windows and swim to shore.   No injuries were reported.
