Carroll, Iowa -- A three vehicle accident Wednesday morning sent three to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The accident happened about .2 of a mile east of Robin Avenue on Highway 30 around 7:52. The investigation by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office determined that 24-year-old Anthony Cosentino of Jefferson was heading east on Highway 30 in a 2013 Ford Escape. He fell asleep and crossed the center line. His vehicle sideswiped a westbound 2005 Ford Ranger driven by 34-year-old Brian Burris of Scranton. Burris’s pickup entered the north ditch and rolled several times. Cosentino’s vehicle then hit head-on with a 2005 Chevy Silverado driven by 48-year-old Pamela Owen of Glidden. All the drivers were transported to St Anthony Regional Hospital by Carroll County EMS. All occupants were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. Assisting the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office at the scene was the Glidden Fire/First Responders, Lidderdale Fire/Rescue, Iowa DOT and Iowa State Patrol.
