Carroll FFA kids compete in subdistricts



Carroll, Iowa -- Carroll Area FFA students competed in the Northeast Subdistrict for Southwest Iowa last Wednesday at Carroll High School with 10 members advancing onto districts.  Katelyn Hoffman finished 1st in FFA Creed Speaking, advancing to districts.  Jamie Pudenz finished 1st in prepared public speaking advancing to districts.  Trevor Fouts also finished 1st in arc welding at will advance on.  3rd place finishers included Courtney Hoffman in extemporaneous speaking, Malachi Mueggenberg in agricultural sales and Sam Gehling, Sam Kemper, Shannon Kennebeck, Ryan Knobbe and Mariah Masching teaming up for 3rd in parliamentary procedure.  All advanced to districts.  Other place winners included Julian Larson in oxy welding, he finished 4th and is a district alternate.  Katelyn Hoffman finished in 1st in greenhand quiz, Michelle Sander took silver in agricultural broadcasting, Katie Carson, Emily Hermsen, Garret Nees (nace), Chelsea Promes, Mitch Rohe (roy), Adam Scharfenkamp and Brent Wernimont took bronze in conduct of meetings.  Shelby Erickson took home silver in job interview.  Districts will be held Saturday, March 3rd in Corning.
