Sioux City, IA -- Morningside College is ranked fifth nationally in the latest NAIA Division II women’s basketball poll released Monday.
The Mustangs defeated Dordt College 81-66 and Midland University 102-52 last week to move up two spots after they had been ranked seventh in last week’s poll. Morningside has an 18-6 record and is second in the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) standings with a 12-3 league mark.
Morningside is one of five teams from the GPAC in this week’s NAIA II Top 25. Concordia University is third, Northwestern College is seventh, Briar Cliff University is 10th, and Hastings College is 20th.
The Mustangs will take a four-game winning streak into a game against Dakota Wesleyan University on Wednesday in Mitchell, S.D.
