Marie M. Wenck

Marie M. Wenck, age 95, of Lidderdale and formerly of Lanesboro passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Shady Oaks Nursing Home in Lake City.
Born on April 6, 1920 in Defiance, IA she was the daughter of Roy and Alverta (Barton) Houdeshell.  She grew up in Varina where she attended high school and played on the volleyball team.  She was married to Wilbur Wenck on January 30. 1941.  The couple made their home on Wilbur’s family farm north of Lidderdale.  Marie worked for the Carroll Egg Plant for a few years.  Wilbur and Marie moved to Lanesboro in 1986 and shortly thereafter Wilbur passed away.  Marie was later married to Ivan Adams in 1991.  Ivan passed away in 1997 and Marie moved into Lidderdale in 2001.   She was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lidderdale where she was in Ladies Aide and served on the Altar Guild.
Marie is survived by a son Richard Wenck and his wife Juanita of Lidderdale; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law Denise Brobst and her husband Charles of Panora; a step-son David Adams and his wife Jane of Waterloo; a sister Anna Jean Lake of Sac City; several step-grandchildren and great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wilbur, her husband Ivan, a son Harlan Wenck, a step-daughter Connie Pearson, a step-son Dennis Adams, and four sisters: Vera Jackson, Eva Tevepaugh, Genevieve Adams, and Darlene Wenck.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lidderdale with Pastor Robert Wagner officiating.  Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the service on Saturday.  Ed Ludwig will be organist.  Casket bearers will be:  Tyler Peterson, Ron Wenck, Mike Sporleder, Les Schleisman, Scott E. Wenck, and Rick Wenck.  Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery near Lidderdale.    Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com.
