Students Give Back During CHS’ Annual Service Day

The sun was shining Wednesday morning while students from Carroll High School (CHS) and Ar-We-Va got to work around town during the annual CHS Service Day. Carroll’s National Honor Society (NHS) coordinates the event that sends students out to make a difference in the community. Sophomore, Sydney Kastle, says nearly every student was able to lend a hand.

Senior, Tez Kong, was with a group of about 10 others at St. John’s Lutheran Church to finish spring cleaning outside. He says it was a beautiful day to give back.

He says the service day is also about setting a good example for the younger students.

Almost 30 different projects were completed during the event. Efforts ranged from cleaning up at the Carroll Police Department’s target range to helping the library prepare for their Summer Reading Program.
