Search Warrant Leads To Multiple Drug-Related Arrests In Sac City

Search warrants requested by the Sac City Police Department have led to multiple arrests for drug-related charges. On Nov. 9, 2017, authorities executed a search warrant at 407 Leonard St. to found five individuals inside the residence: Daniel Crabb, Craig Arends and Nathan Williams, all of Sac City; Heather Brady, of West Des Moines; and Gregory Gunia, of Des Moines. Officers located several pieces of drug paraphernalia and a white powder during a search of the home. All five subjects were arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. The items were seized, and the suspected narcotics were sent to the Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Laboratory for testing. Results received on Feb. 15 confirmed the white powder was methamphetamine. Crabb is now also charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, a class C felony, and sponsoring a gathering for use of a controlled substance and failure to affix a drug tax stamp, both class D felonies. The Sac County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.
