Sac County Sheriff, Ken McClure, has reported a fatality accident occurred on Wednesday north of Sac City. His department responded to the scene at the intersection of Rolf Avenue and Highway 20 at approximately 12:06 p.m. Upon arrival, they learned that 77-year-old Dennis Gosch of Sac City had been driving northbound on Rolf Avenue in a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado. Gosch pulled out onto highway 20 and was struck by an eastbound semi-tractor trailer, driven by 61-year-old Robert Brown of Kiron. Gosch was pronounced dead at the scene. Brown was uninjured. An investigation into the accident is being conducted by the Iowa State Patrol and Sac County Sheriff’s Office. The Sac City Police Department, Sac City Fire and Rescue, Sac County Emergency Medical Services, Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement division and the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) Maintenance department assisted at the scene.
