A Rippey woman was cited for unsafe passing in a property-damage accident on Friday. At approximately 1:55 p.m., the Jefferson Police Department responded to the intersection of North High Street and West Washington Street. A 2012 Chevrolet Equinox, driven westbound on West Washington by Freddie German of Jefferson, was attempting to turn into a driveway. A 2004 Volkswagen Passat, driven by Nicole Murphy, was behind the German vehicle. When she attempted to pass the Equinox, she ended up striking it in the driver’s side door, causing an estimated $4,000 in damages. There was an estimated $3,500 done to her own vehicle as well.
