No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident Friday afternoon in Jefferson. The Jefferson Police Department responded to the scene near the intersection of Elm and Clark Streets at approximately 4:38 p.m. A 2005 Nissan Altima, operated by Joan Higgins, of Jefferson, was northbound on Elm. A 2005 Buick LeSabre, driven by Glennie Costello, of Jefferson, was traveling southbound on Elm Street and proceeded to take a left turn onto Clark. Costello struck the Higgins vehicle while making the turn, causing an estimate $2,000 in damage to both vehicles. Costello was cited for unsafe left turn.
